Proven APKs does not ask whether an app looks good this week. It asks whether the app has been good for long enough that this week stopped being the interesting part. A screenshot is a moment; a track record is years of them, added together.
An app earns a place here by staying maintained across real version changes and by keeping the users it already had, not only attracting new ones. Update history is shown next to every entry, not summarised away.
These pages are generated in advance and served as static files, so the site holds up the same way the apps in it do: without depending on anything happening at the last minute.
If an app you have relied on for years is missing here, or one listed has quietly stopped being maintained, the contact form is the place to say so.
Apps that changed hands, changed behaviour, or lost most of their users within a year of launching are left out. Early traction is not a track record, whatever the first numbers looked like.
Proven APKs is maintained by a small group who got tired of reviews written the week an app launched, before anyone could know whether it would still be worth using later.
Entries are revisited as apps age, not only when they are first added, and anything that stops being maintained is removed rather than left looking current.
A launch week is easy to stage. A second year is not.
